Police officers in Alaska use the standard field sobriety test developed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The standard test consists of three parts. The one-leg stand, horizontal gaze nystagmus test and the walk and turn test.
When properly administered, these tests are fairly accurate in assisting in whether a DUI arrest is warranted. However, you should consult a lawyer if you have been arrested for DUI as improperly administered tests are not admissible as evidence.
