Florida Judge Argues With Criminal Defense Attorney Over Client's Right to a Speedy Trial

Here’s a link to a video that I thought some people may find amusing and informative.  It’s amusing because the judge challenges the public defender to a fight when he won’t waive his client’s speedy trial right (Rule 45) and insists on a trial as soon as possible.  It’s informative because it shows some of the pressures criminal defenses lawyers are under from judges hostile to some of the fundamental rights of the Constitution, such as due process and a criminal defendant’s right to a speedy trial.

If you have been charged with a crime, you should contact a criminal defense attorney.  The Law Office of Ben Crittenden has extensive experience in criminal defense and is available for a free case evaluation at 907-771-9002.  You can find more information on our federal and state criminal pages as well as our blog.
